—  ART DIRECTION & DESIGN

Hello.

Welcome to the portfolio site of Joshua Hearn. I am a Designer and Art Director specializing in both digital and print media. Since receiving a BFA from the FIT School of Art and Design in New York City in 2009, I have worked independently, as a freelancer, and as a staff member for various studios, agencies, and brands, including: Grey New York, MTWTF, designwajskol, Logo, Godiva, and NYCEDC.
Please feel free to browse through my recent work on this site (you can navigate via your arrow keys), contact me here, or download my resume. Or any combination of those things.

Ketel One
Design explorations for an online participation platform, which include a stand-alone website and pre-launch Facebook components.
Also shown: out-of-home redesign. My role in both instances was to push the established visual language of the "Gentlemen, This Is Vodka" campaign to create clean, contemporary designs that would appeal to Ketel One drinkers.

Design

Sargento
Site redesign. The previous Flash-based site was extremely difficult to navigate and did not effectively communicate its content. Our team brought the main features — recipes and products — to center stage and designed a clear and intuitive user interface to make all of the site's content easily accessible. Working with art director Harun Zankel, who established the brand's online aesthetic, I was responsible for designing each page of the site. Additionally, I developed the IA model for the login and registration functions, and designed the digital styleguide.

T.J.Maxx
Proposed social media extensions of the Maxxinista campaign. MaxxLife was an online game along the lines of Project Runway in which people could combine their T.J.Maxx "finds" into unique ensembles that would then be modeled and voted upon.
Ista was a Facebook-based magazine featuring curated, brand-specific content such as guest articles from T.J.Maxx buyers. My role in both was to design key visuals for presentation to the client.

UPMC
Proposed site redesign. Working off of wireframes developed by Razorfish Health, I designed a simple landing page and a color-based navigation system to help users locate the content most relevant to them within the UPMC site.
